Our Story
A Veteran's Approach to Home Building
Tim Clour has been a home builder and commercial general contractor for over 10 years. He founded Iron Eagle Homes specifically to focus on high-end coastal homes and elevated additions along the Carolina coast.
Before building homes, Tim ran a home services company in the Raleigh/Durham area where he and his team serviced up to 10 homes per day in the door industry — building systems that resulted in over 5,000 happy customers. He sold that company in 2020 and channeled everything he learned about speed, systems, and customer service into Iron Eagle Homes.
The result? Iron Eagle Homes builds custom homes in 6 months from start of construction — a timeline driven by Tim's obsession with personnel management and scheduling. No other coastal builder leads with speed like this.
Based in Powells Point, NC, we build custom homes across the Outer Banks and coastal North Carolina — from Nags Head to Corolla, from Moyock to Hatteras. From piling homes that stand up to flood zones to slab and crawl space builds on the mainland, every project gets the same veteran precision.

Tim Clour served in the US Army with two combat deployments to Iraq. The values instilled by military service — loyalty, integrity, accountability — are the foundation of how Iron Eagle Homes operates. But our veteran focus isn't about us. It's about what we can do for other veterans.
As a VA-certified builder, we help veterans and active-duty service members build a brand-new custom home with zero money down using a VA-backed construction loan. It's one of the most powerful and underutilized benefits available — and we're one of the few certified builders in the region who can deliver on it.

The Iron Eagle Homes Foundation — Now Forming
We're proud to announce the formation of the Iron Eagle Homes Foundation — a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving back to the communities that have given so much to us. The Foundation is currently working through the official process of becoming a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Once established, it will serve as the permanent home for our Hero Homes giveaway program and future charitable initiatives.

Timothy Clour
Founder & General Contractor
Timothy Clour is the founder of Iron Eagle Homes and a licensed NC General Contractor (NCGC #108337). A US Army combat veteran with two tours in Iraq (OIF 2 & OIF 3), Tim brings the same discipline and commitment to every custom home he builds on the Carolina coast. With over a decade of construction and home services experience, Tim founded Iron Eagle Homes to deliver high-quality coastal custom homes with a builder clients can trust.
Charles "Chuck" Haney
Co-Owner & Vice President
Charles "Chuck" Haney is co-owner and Vice President of Iron Eagle Homes. An accomplished entrepreneur with businesses spanning the East Coast, Chuck is the founder of AtEase Security, a commercial and residential security company serving clients across multiple states. He also operates a property management portfolio in the mountains of Western Maryland.
Chuck’s connection to the Outer Banks runs deep — his second home in Nags Head brought him close to the coastal NC community, and a natural partnership with Tim Clour turned into Iron Eagle Homes. Today, Chuck brings his business operations expertise and entrepreneurial mindset to help grow Iron Eagle Homes into the premier custom home builder on the Carolina coast.
When he’s not working, Chuck enjoys spending time with his wife Kathleen, fishing the coastal waters, and riding ATVs in West Virginia with close friends.
